The list of Student Attachment/Internship Programmes is as follows: LOCAL INDUSTRIAL ATTACHMENT PROGRAMMES (A) National University of Singapore (NUS) NUS Industrial Attachment Programme (IAP) Training in industry to expose students to the engineering workplace has long been a part of the curriculum at the Faculty of Engineering, NUS. Students who have opted to do the Industrial Attachment Programme (IAP) must complete 24 weeks of IA training. For more information, please visit http://www.eng.nus.edu.sg/ia The objectives of the Industrial Attachment Programme are to: Provide opportunities for the students to use their initiative to translate theories learnt in classrooms and perform assignments in an actual working environment; instill in the students the right kind of work attitudes and professionalism through interaction with people in the organizations, and observation of their future roles in industry; and reduce the on-the-job training requirements so that they can become effective and productive to their respective organizations much sooner than is usual for fresh graduates. This programme (VIP) is designed to:
Enable students to translate theories learnt in the classroom and perform assignments in a real world environment. Instill in students the right kind of work attitude and professionalism through interaction with people in the organizations and observation of their future roles in industry. Enable students to learn more than what is taught in NUS. Enable students to acquire intangible attributes like working in a team, and employing IT in the workplace. NUS School of Computing Industrial Attachment Programme (IAP) In this programme students are attached full-time to organizations for a period of about 2.5 months to work on Information Technology related projects. It integrates both training and performance evaluation as part of the program requirements. This program allows students to gain on-the-job training and work professionalism to prepare them to contribute effectively as soon as possible.

We have had foreign undergrads from renowned overseas universities who took part in this programme. This is part of their curriculum to undergo internship with a company either abroad or in their home country.
Undergraduate Research Opportunities Programme (UROP)
We have been participating in the UROP with National University of Singapores School of Computing and Faculty of Science. Students under this programme can be Year 2 undergraduate students to Final Year students.

The purpose of this attachment programme is to supplement NTU's in-house practical professional training or/and to lessen the on-the-job training of these students when they graduate, as well as to instill in them the right kind of work attitude and work professionalism, so that they can become effective and productive to their respective organization much sooner than is usual for fresh graduates.

LOCAL & OVERSEAS POSTGRADUATE ATTACHMENT PROGRAMMES
Postgraduate Research Attachment Programme (PRAP)
(i) Singaporean students (Masters, PhD) from overseas Universities
(ii) Foreign students (Masters, PhD) from local/overseas Universities
We welcome top postgraduate students from prestigious Universities to participate in our PRAP. To date, we have students from Germany , UK , India , Austria , US, Serbia & Montenegro , China , Poland , France , Holland and Canada.
The internship period is based on a minimum of 3 months to a maximum of 6 months. (iii) Singapore-MIT Alliance (SMA) Internship
We have had SMA postgraduate students doing internship at our institute for the past years. FINAL YEAR PROJECT/HONOURS YEAR PROJECT ATTACHMENT PROGRAMMES - LOCAL UNIVERSITIES
Final Year Project (FYP)
We also participate actively in the Final Year Projects with both National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU). The good response from our researchers, who proposed numerous interesting projects, has attracted a large pool of Final Year Project students in the past few years.
Honours Year Project (HYP)
We have been participating in the Honours Year Project with National University of Singapores School of Computing and Faculty of Science. Students who went through this programme have successfully completed their Honours Year Project under the guidance of our researchers who are Professors or teaching fellows from School of Computing and Faculty of Science at the National University of Singapore (NUS). INDUSTRIAL ATTACHMENT PROGRAMMES - OTHERS
Polytechnic Student Research Programme (PSRP)
The objective of the programme is to nurture local polytechnic students in R&D through an immersion in a scientific and engineering research environment. The selected students will do their final year projects at the universities and research institutes (RIs). It is hoped that the programme will prepare these students for an R&D career upon graduation. Students undertaking R&D projects will continue to attend normal classes at the Polytechnic. The RI supervisors will co-supervise the students' projects, with Polytechnics supervisors. Each project group normally consists of 3 students.
A*STAR Pre-departure Attachment Programme
Initiated by the A*STAR Graduate Academy (AGA), the programme enables potential BS-PhD scholars to indicate their interest in attachment with the research institutes. Their application will be circulated to the relevant departments to solicit interest from the researchers who might be keen to supervise the scholars. Scholars under this programme will undergo an attachment before they embark with their studies at overseas universities.

A*STAR Summer Attachment
In this programme, as part of the BS-PhD scholarship requirements, scholars returning to Singapore have to complete a summer attachment. To date, we have had 6 scholars attached to us for summer. They are from Cornell, Cambridge, University of Michigan, Imperial College, Duke and Carnegie Mellon University.
