In assisting the local industry to upgrade its technological competitive advantage, I²R or through A*STAR launched industry-wide initiatives or programmes for the benefit of the local information, communications and media (ICM) industry cluster. I²R also works with companies on an individual basis from feasibility study, technical evaluation to technology prototyping. I²R supports SPRING’s Technology Enterprise Commercialisation Scheme (TECS) which aims to catalyse the formation and growth of start-ups based on strong technology Intellectual Property and a scalable business model. Start-ups can leverage on I²R’s technology IP to minimize the R&D risk and seek for early-stage funding such as the TECS’s Proof of Concept (POC) and Proof of Value (POV) to further the R&D efforts towards the commercialisation of proprietary technology ideas. I²R is one of the participating KIs with research capabilities in information technology, wireless and optical communication networks, interactive and digital media, signal processing and computing. |
