Date Patent No. Description
27 Apr 04 US 09/305,574 Optimizing delivery of computer media

A method of optimizing delivery of computer media over a network of computers involves creating an annotation record for each item of computer media. Within the annotation record at least some of the following classes of information are included: (i) an identification of the computer on which the media item was created or introduced to the network; (ii) identifications of one or more computers on which a copy of the media item is presently located; (iii) an identification list of computers which have established a computer link to the media item; (iv) an identification list of computer users who have personal software assistants which have established a computer link to the media item; (v) an indication enabling version control of the media item; and (iv) one or more indications as to the subject matter of the media item. Whenever a media item is updated or deleted, the corresponding annotation record is also updated and a notification record is forwarded to each computer or a personal software assistant of each computer user on the network which has a computer link to the media item.

11 May 04 US 10/281,226 Miniature built-in multiple frequency band antenna

A multiple frequency band antenna is disclosed involving a first resonant portion tuned to a low frequency band; a second resonant portion tuned to a first high frequency band at frequencies higher than the low frequency band; a third resonant portion tuned to a second high frequency band at frequencies higher than the low frequency band and substantially different from the first high frequency band; and a first conductor portion forming part of the first resonant portion and the second resonant portion, the first conductor portion having a grounding point, a feeding point for providing an input signal to at least one of the first resonant portion and the second resonant portion and for receiving an output signal from at least one of the first resonant portion and the second resonant portion, and a second conductor portion electrically connected to the feeding point wherein the third resonant portion is electrically connected to the second conductor portion.

31 May 04 SG 86506 Document Classification Apparatus

Document classification apparatus is disclosed comprising feature extraction means (20) for extracting a plurality of features from a document and a classifier (30) operable to process the document in a knowledge acquisition mode in which information for classification is acquired from the features of the document and added incrementally to a knowledge base (105) and in a document classification mode in which the classifier (30), using the knowledge base, determines from the features a predicted classification for the document, the classifier (20) being switchable between the modes under user control. The apparatus is further operable to perform rule insertion in the knowledge acquisition mode in which a number of features are input by a user to the classifier together with a classification with which the features are associated.
