Established in 2010, the Human Factors Engineering (HFE) Thematic Strategic Research Programme (TSRP) is an integrated, multi-disciplinary, funded by the Science and Engineering Research Council (SERC), A* STAR, and managed by Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R) .
The aim of the programme is to understand and model human behavior in order to develop efficient, user-centered systems. While the human factors psychologists take a great interest in psychological theories that are used to explain behavior, the human factors engineers take a great interest in design.
This programme covers human factors research issues in Robotics, Healthcare, Aging, User Interface Design and Ethnography, with aims to promote cross-disciplinary research across the A* STAR research institutes, local universities, hospitals, as well as industry partners.
